WLSA-CTM Professional Excellence scholarship scheme

On 30th November 2022 (Tuesday), Dr Jia Bo, Principal of the World Leading Schools Association (WLSA) Shanghai Academy and Executive Board Member (Secretary General) of WLSA, and Ms. Cao Xi, Director of WLSA, visited our school to introduce the WLSA Elite Scholarship Programme, discussed future cooperation with Principal Yuen Kwok-ming and Vice Principal Chu Yuen-yee and conversed with three CTM students. Elite Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship for academically talented but economically disadvantaged students from around the world (mainly from developing countries and regions) to attend one of the top universities in the United States (such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford and MIT). Every year, Dr Jia, being the Principal of WLSA Shanghai Academy and Executive Board Member (Secretary General) of WLSA, selects students from Mainland China and Hong Kong for the WLSA Elite Scholarship (the WLSA Elite Scholarship was officially launched in Shanghai in October 2014 to provide students of good academic quality, from modest to poor families, with the opportunity to study at one of the top universities in the United States (namely Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stamford and MIT).

Finally, Dr Jia has shown his appreciation towards the international characteristics of CTM and the support for students who demonstrate excellent English and foreign language proficiency and come from underprivileged backgrounds. This is in line with the mission of the WLSA Elite Scholarship. Thus, WLSA Foundation (Hong Kong) Limited donated $50,000 to CTM to establish the WLSA-CTM Professional Excellence Scholarship Scheme, which will be used in nurturing CTM students to become candidates for the WLSA Elite Scholarship and therefore fully fund their studies at one of the top universities in the United States (namely Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford and MIT).
